Does TouchBistro Integrate With QuickBooks?
Yes, you can integrate TouchBistro with QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Desktop, Xero, Sage Intacct and NetSuite using Autymate. TouchBistro's help lists TouchBistro Profit Management, powered by MarginEdge, and a third-party accounting partner as accounting routes, and we found no connector TouchBistro builds itself (checked November 2026). Autymate builds the connection around how each location provides its closed day, then posts sales, tax, tips, gift cards and tenders on separate lines.

TouchBistro's reports run a restaurant well. The close asks a narrower thing: one day, one location and one deposit at once. On TouchBistro's Cloud help, that combination sits in two reports, End of Day and Cash Deposits, and neither can go in a scheduled report. So someone downloads each, for each location, and still has to read them as an accountant would.
Three things set how a day posts: which platform each location runs, how card tips are paid, and how gift cards are rung. The rest of this page takes each one.
TouchBistro End of Day Lines and Where Each One Belongs
TouchBistro's End of Day puts a location's sales, tax, tips and payments on one report, measured over the Service Time you set, and its Cash Deposits report holds the count. These are the lines a closing bookkeeper needs. Sales lines exclude tax and gratuity, payment lines include tax, and card lines include tips as well, so a wrong placement rarely shows until the bank disagrees.

| In TouchBistro's reports | Where it belongs | What it costs you when it is wrong |
|---|---|---|
| What the location earned | ||
| Sales by Category | An income account for each Sales Category | A category added or renamed in Cloud lands nowhere, or in the wrong account, until someone notices |
| Discounts | A discount account, read apart from sales | TouchBistro counts discounts, promotions and loyalty rewards together, so marketing and floor giveaways blur into one figure |
| Gift Card Sales | Gift card liability, raised on sale and reduced on redemption | Rung as a menu item, a card can also read in Sales by Category, and income lands months before the meal |
| Owed to government and staff | ||
| Total Sales Taxes | A payable account for each tax the report lists, GST, HST or PST where they apply | One combined figure hides what each return needs |
| Total Tips | Tips payable for non-cash tips; cash tips reported go to payroll only | Posting the whole line books cash the servers already kept as money the house owes |
| Total Gratuity | Tips payable, or income and wages, by your setting and your accountant's treatment | With Separate Gratuity from Tips or Calculate Tax on Gratuity on, TouchBistro logs auto grats as house income, and the server's Shift Report shows what they collected to pay out |
| How the money arrived | ||
| Payments by Payment Type | Card clearing for each tender, and undeposited cash | Sent straight to the bank, the card total runs ahead of the money, with tax and tips inside it |
| Third-party order platforms | A clearing account for each platform | TouchBistro shows these orders as payment types; commission usually comes off on the platform's statement, so its payout won't match the report |
| Accounts Summary | A receivable, cleared by payments and deposits | Charged to an account, a bill is a sale with no money yet, and a prepaid deposit isn't income |
| What happened to the cash | ||
| Payouts/Payins | The expense for each reason, or tips payable for a Staff Credit Card Tip | Left out, money that left the drawer reads as a shortage |
| Cash Deposits: Expected Deposit, Actual Deposit, Over/Short | Undeposited cash, and cash over and short | A location that often runs short disappears inside sales |
One TouchBistro Friday, End of Day to Deposit
Kestrel Lane's Friday End of Day reads: Net Sales of $5,920.00 after $130.00 of Discounts, Total Sales Taxes of $457.60, and Total Tips of $1,120.00. Cards carry most of the money. The manager pays $980.00 of card tips and a $60.00 supplier from the drawer, then counts the cash. Here is that day as one entry, and how TouchBistro works out the deposit.

The $140.00 between Total Net Sales, Taxes, and Tips ($7,497.60) and Total Payments ($7,357.60) is server cash tips reported at clock out. TouchBistro's own definition says that line includes them. The house didn't collect that money, so it stays out of the entry and goes to payroll with the rest of Total Tips. Take it out, then the tips and the supplier paid from the drawer and the shortage, and $7,497.60 comes down to the $6,309.10 above.
The tip payout is the line to watch. Leave that $980.00 unlogged and Expected Deposit is $1,761.00, so the same count reads $988.50 short. TouchBistro's help points to exactly this when a drawer comes up short, and its Cash Deposits report doesn't tell you why. Pay card tips through payroll instead and the $980.00 stays in the drawer, with tips payable open until payroll runs. Either is fine, and a drawer payout doesn't replace payroll reporting, but one mapping can't assume both.
Gift cards are the third. TouchBistro's Moneris guide says gift card purchases appear under your Sales Category report and on Gift Card Sales, and a card rung as a menu item is how that happens. Kestrel Lane earned $5,720.00, the figure its tax was worked on, while Net Sales prints $200.00 higher. Map one of the two lines, or the gift card counts twice. Have an End of Day to hand? See how your days would post.
Sample figures, on a Cloud-based End of Day. Auto gratuity, house accounts, third-party orders, gift card redemptions, voids, pay-ins and open bills are $0.00. One 8% rate on food and alcohol after discounts; the gift card carries no tax. A house drawer, not server banking. Float stays in the drawer, outside both deposit figures. Whether a gift card reads in Net Sales depends on how yours is set up, so confirm against your report at Map. Card fees are left out of this entry because they arrive on each processor's terms; they clear against card clearing when each deposit lands.
TouchBistro Cloud-Based or POS-Based: What Changes for the Books
Log in to TouchBistro Cloud and read the left-hand menu: Menu Management means Cloud-based, Menu means POS-based. Cloud-based reads a 24-hour service day, keeps all taxes non-inclusive and lets you rename or delete a Sales Category. On POS-based, a day runs from Opening to End of Day, and taxes can be inclusive. Those differences reach the books.
| For the books | Cloud-based platform | POS-based platform |
|---|---|---|
| What a day means | A 24-hour period set by your Service Time | From Opening to End of Day on the iPad, so a late close moves where one day ends |
| Tax in the numbers | All taxes non-inclusive, set at group level or per location | Inclusive tax possible, and some reports then show sales with tax inside them |
| Sales Categories | You can edit or delete them | Fixed once created |
| Reports | Exclusively in Cloud; the iPad opens the same ones | Generated on the iPad for a chosen time range, sent as CSV by email |
| End of Day | Full-screen report, kept in Cloud, with Day Parts | A pop-up on the iPad, with a CSV by email |
| If the iPad is lost | The restaurant downloads again | End of Day reports kept on that device or Mac mini go with it |
A group moving between platforms may have both, so the platform is recorded location by location. Where a category changes in Cloud, a line with no account is held for your decision rather than guessed at, with the reason and what to check. If your location is on POS-based, tell us at Connect: this page's report names follow TouchBistro's Cloud help.
Where TouchBistro Data Can Go
Where your books live doesn't change what TouchBistro provides. One approved mapping covers every Sales Category and tender, and each location's day lands in the accounting system its owner already keeps.
- QuickBooks Online
- A TouchBistro day as one journal entry, with Sales Categories on your income accounts and each location as a location or class. QuickBooks Online integrations
- QuickBooks Desktop
- For restaurants whose company files stayed on Desktop, with Payouts/Payins on their own expense accounts the way the Online file reads. QuickBooks Desktop integrations
- Xero
- Locations as a tracking option, so Sales by Category and Over/Short read location by location in Xero's reports. Accounting integrations
- Sage Intacct
- A restaurant as a location inside the entity that owns it, with each tax the report lists on its own payable account. ERP integrations
- NetSuite
- Locations under the subsidiary that owns them, with each line of Payments by Payment Type in clearing until it funds. ERP integrations
How TouchBistro Connects
How a day reaches Autymate depends on what TouchBistro enables for your account and what each location already sends. These are the three routes we start from, and which one suits each location is settled at Connect.

Reports TouchBistro emails on a schedule
ScheduledCloud sends chosen reports as CSV or XLSX, daily, weekly, every 2 weeks or monthly. A daily report goes out two hours after your service day closes. End of Day and Cash Deposits can't be among them, so the deposit count has to come another way.
An End of Day and Cash Deposit file
CSV exportA manager or bookkeeper downloads the End of Day as CSV or XLSX, one location at a time, and the Cash Deposits report beside it. It suits a location whose deposit has to come from a person.
For your IT or accounting team: the technical detail
- Service Time
- Every Cloud report uses the Service Time under Hours & Scheduling. A service day of 8 am to 7:59 am sends its daily report at 10 am.
- Time zone
- MarginEdge's and TouchBistro's setup guides both ask you to set it first, so check it for each location before any connection.
- Detailed Sales
- This CSV has a row per item with Pre-tax Amount, Discount Amount, Is Voided, Bill Number and Order Type, for one selected sales day. The columns we read carry no tender or tip, so it can't close a day alone.
- Cash Deposits
- The 7-day edit window counts today, and View History shows who changed what.
- Blind deposits
- A role permission hides Expected Deposit and Over/Short from the person counting.
- Modifiers
- In TouchBistro's example, 10% off a $10 burger with a $2 modifier reports $1.20 against the burger, and a coupon at checkout is spread across the bill.
- Rounding
- A tie-out tolerance for TouchBistro's rounding is agreed at Map.
Profit Management or Autymate for TouchBistro?
TouchBistro's App Marketplace lists TouchBistro Profit Management, powered by MarginEdge, under Accounting, beside a third-party accounting partner. The scheduling limit above is on reports, and Profit Management receives its data another way. If your books live in Restaurant365, TouchBistro lists that too. For one location with a willing bookkeeper, exporting by hand is a fair choice. The table sets out what each says about itself and where Autymate differs.

TouchBistro's multi reports roll up sales, labor, menu and payments across venues, which suits running the group. End of Day and Cash Deposits aren't among the multi reports it lists, and the fields it describes show no deposit or over/short, so the close still happens location by location.
Six Locations, Two Screens Each.
End of Day opens for one location at a time, and so does a day's deposit. That's twelve downloads a day for six locations before anyone has read them. Autymate posts each location's day to one approved mapping, so the reading happens once, on exceptions. Where a location still provides a file, the download stays and the keying and the line-by-line reading go.Locations in Separate Companies.
Each location lands in its own QuickBooks company, or its own location or class in one company, on one mapping template. A location that named a Sales Category differently gets an approved location-level adjustment.A Group Mid-Move Between Platforms.
A location on the POS-based platform reads a day from Opening to End of Day, and one on Cloud reads its Service Time. The same night can fall on different days, so the rule for each is recorded at Map and one chart still reads alike.A Deposit That Comes Late, or Changes.
A manager can skip the deposit at close and enter it next morning, and can edit it for 7 days. Autymate can be set up to hold a day whose deposit hasn't been entered, and to hold a deposit edited after posting where the route shows the edit. A location that sent no day is flagged, and that day posts once its data arrives.
Send us each location's platform. More on restaurant integrations and franchise and multi-location integrations.
How TouchBistro Setup Works
Most of the work is settling which report line ties to what and which account it belongs on. Once that's agreed, posting is routine.
Connect
We record which platform each location runs and what it can provide, agree the route with you and with TouchBistro where needed, and connect your accounting system.
Map
Your bookkeeper and our team give each Sales Category, discount, tax and tender its account, and record each location's Service Time, its gift card setup and how its card tips are paid.
Validate
One closed day from one location is posted and tied to that day's End of Day and Cash Deposits report, down to the Over/Short.
Automate
Each location's day posts on the schedule you choose, as a summary entry, once its data has arrived.
Monitor
Autymate's team watches each run. A new Sales Category with no account is held for your decision with the reason and what to check, a day that has already posted is caught by the duplicate check, and support is on hand.
Decide this before anything is built
How card tips are paid at each location; how auto gratuity is set and treated; how gift cards are rung, and which of the two lines the books read; and one entry per location or per Day Part. Settle these four with your accountant first.
What we need from you
- Which platform each location runs: Menu or Menu Management in Cloud
- One End of Day and its Cash Deposits report from each kind of location
- Each location's processor, and whether it uses TouchBistro Payments
- Your TouchBistro account contact, if access has to be arranged
- Access to QuickBooks, Xero, Sage Intacct or NetSuite
What a TouchBistro Integration Looks Like in Autymate
Every location's closed day becomes one run. You see what posted and what waits.
Autymate turns each location's closed TouchBistro day into one run. Your team sees every location in one list: what posted, what is held and why, and any location that sent nothing, which is flagged and posts once its data arrives. Held items wait for your decision while the rest of the day posts. Every run keeps its mapping version and a log of each step, and Autymate's team monitors the runs.

TouchBistro POS Integration FAQs
Yes, you can integrate TouchBistro with QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop using Autymate. We found no connector TouchBistro builds itself, checked November 2026; its help points to a third-party accounting partner and to Profit Management, and a 2016 TouchBistro release that still ranks describes that partner's route. Autymate builds the connection around how each location provides its closed day. Xero, Sage Intacct and NetSuite work the same way.
As one balanced entry for each location and each service day, not as a single sales figure. Credit income for each Sales Category, tax and tips to payable accounts, and gift cards to a liability. Debit discounts, card clearing for each tender, undeposited cash for the amount counted, payouts and any cash short. Reconcile clearing when each deposit lands. Your accountant settles the accounts; Xero, Sage Intacct and NetSuite take the same shape.
Because they measure different things. TouchBistro's sales reports leave tax out, while its payment reports include tax, and Total Non-Cash also includes tips. The cash line in Payments by Payment Type leaves out tips and auto grats. Total Net Sales, Taxes, and Tips adds server cash tips the house didn't collect. TouchBistro also notes that rounding a cent across many transactions can move totals slightly. Tie a day from payments back to Net Sales, and each gap has a name.
No. TouchBistro's Cloud help says you cannot include the End of Day in scheduled reports, and the same goes for Cash Deposits. You download, print or email an End of Day as CSV or XLSX, for one location at a time. Other reports can go out daily, two hours after the service day closes. With six locations, that is six End of Day downloads a day for whoever closes the books.
Use the reports marked Multi in Cloud, such as Sales Summary and Payments Summary, and pick your corporation name to include every venue. A schedule can send them monthly as CSV or XLSX. They serve for reading the group. For the books, check them against the location-level days, because the close rests on each location's own End of Day and deposit.
It has two platforms. On the Cloud-based one, reports live in Cloud and you need internet to view them, End of Day included, though orders continue offline, and offline payments run with TouchBistro Payments or Moneris. The POS-based platform uploads sales to Cloud but keeps End of Day reports on the iPad or Mac mini. Check your Cloud menu: Menu Management means Cloud-based.
Log it as a payout at the cash register, with a reason. Expected Deposit counts cash payments on bills, plus pay-ins, minus payouts, so an unlogged payment for a milk delivery reads as a shortage. TouchBistro suggests separate reasons for suppliers, card tips, auto grats and float. Each reason can then post to its own account, which is what makes the Payouts/Payins line usable in the books.
Look at Gift Card Sales on the End of Day, and for Digital Gift Cards download a Gift Card Usage Report, then sum Credit and Debit by venue to reconcile across locations. They book as a liability when sold and come off when redeemed. A guest's overpayment on a card is classified as a tip, so it belongs with tips payable rather than sales.
We found no public developer portal or terms from TouchBistro, checked November 2026, though partners do connect: MarginEdge, for one, uses a Venue ID from the App Marketplace. Ask your TouchBistro account contact what applies to your locations and who holds that access. Autymate works it out with you at Connect.
Harris, a Constellation Software company, announced on July 7, 2026 that it had acquired TouchBistro Inc. The announcement describes no change to reports or integrations, and we saw none announced as of November 2026. Your books don't depend on who owns the POS, but a changed report would change what gets mapped, which is one reason every posted entry carries a reference back to its POS day.
Yes. As of November 2026, TouchBistro says its Payments product is for US customers only, so Canadian groups run other processors, such as Moneris. The connection reads the End of Day the same way, and each processor's tenders get their own clearing accounts. Tax is carried from the report, with a separate payable account for each tax it lists. Tell us your QuickBooks edition at Connect, since tax codes differ by country.
Both come out of scoping, and what moves them is how many locations you run, which platform each is on, how many companies own them and where the books live. Weigh that against the manual close: someone downloading and keying an End of Day and a deposit for every location, every day, then finding at month end what didn't agree. One closed day is enough to start.
